'The British Empire Strikes Back' takes a witty and engaging look at the legacy of the British Empire. Six well-known Britons explore how the Empire has impacted on modern Britain. Diana Rigg, David Steel, Shobna Gulati, Chris Bisson, Adrian Lester and Jenny Eclair discover in the new Channel 4 series, 'Empire’s Children', how their families’ histories have been shaped by the British Empire.
Now they turn their attention to post-imperial Britain to give us their take on what happened when the Empire came home. As the colonialists returned and migrants from the former colonies settled in the mother country what effect did it have on the nation? And how did the dismantling of the Empire shape Britain and what it means to be British today?
